Description

The light of an ancient civilisation

Farvahar, an icon that has come to us from Iran, the cradle of the Persian civilisation, is a symbol of Zoroastrianism. This monotheistic religion is founded on the belief of the struggle between good and evil, between light and darkness, that is present in every person incarnated in a material world.

There are three principles that guide Man through this path towards eternal bliss - his good deeds, good thoughts and good words. He is helped by the Fravashi, which is both his guardian angel, soul and spirit. One of the months in the Zoroastrian and Iranian (Persian) calendars is dedicated to Fravashi.

Magnificent symbol, the Faravahar takes flight

The Faravahar spreads its wings across the body of the Varius writing instrument by Caran d’Ache, and comes in three versions - 800 silver, plated silver or 18k gold. It is framed and emphasized by silver arabesques.

This writing instrument is a limited edition of 470 pieces, harking back to the year in which the sacred fire was thought to have been lit in the Fire Temple Yazd.
