Description

The golden falcon, emblematic animal of the United Arab Emirates

Falconry is a tradition transmitted by the Beduins of the Arabian Peninsula. It is therefore quite natural that the bird, representing the Quraish family, from which the Prophet Muhammad is descended, became the main emblem of the coat of arms of the United Arab Emirates when the Federation was founded on December 2, 1971. The hawk is wearing a round shield circled with 7 stars representing the 7 emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Sharjah, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah and Umm al Qa’ayain. In its talons, the raptor holds a parchment gules bearing the inscription الإمارات العربية المتحدة / al-Imārāt al-’Arabiyya al-Muttaḥida which means "United Arab Emirates". The shield contains the flag of the country whose four colors symbolize the characteristics: black for the oil, the wealth of the country, white for the neutrality of the State, green for the fertility and red for the unity of the State.

A luxurious pen that pays tribute to the Persian Gulf Federation

This Caran d’Ache 800 silver pen is part of a special collection "The emblems". To offer or to be offered, it will delight lovers of the country with over-height towers and palm-shaped artificial peninsulas. Finely chiseled, the pen takes the coat of arms of the country: the golden falcon at the tail and at the tip of the silver wings, the red inscription in Arabic calligraphy on the parchment and the four emblematic colors of the flag, circumscribed in the shield to the 7 stars. While being beautiful, luxurious and elegant, it has exceptional writing comfort.
